Yes. Your archive is written to immutable storage (S3 Object Lock) and encrypted, so it can’t be altered or deleted, even if your live mailbox is compromised.

How is my mailbox password stored?

Do I need an app password?
Gmail, Yahoo and iCloud need an app password instead of your normal password. Other IMAP mailboxes usually use the regular mailbox password.
